In this role you will be providing a proactive approach to the prevention of equipment failure and ensuring the schedule PM is carried out as planned. Quality:

• Liaise with Technical on customer complaint and audit details to ensure your team is aware of any trends or concerns and is acting to prevent any further re-occurrence.

• Highlight any material quality issues to the QA on shift to ensure appropriate action is taken to assess the impact on finished product quality before it is used on a documented deviation or placed on hold.

People / Structure / Team Development:

• To appraise and develop your team to ensure they have a clear understanding of the expectations of their role in the business.


• To provide mentoring and / or coaching as required, within a structured framework & to a documented outcome in line with business procedures.

• Report all absence daily to the HR team. Monitor and act upon absence within your team to ensure every support is offered to those away from work to aid their rehabilitation and the quickest possible return to their duties.

• Resolve conflict & ensure all people issues are dealt with within the correct procedure and employment legislation

Communication:

• Complete a shift handover with the oncoming Shift Manager covering the following as relates to your completed shift

• As you come onto shift ensure you communicate the details within the shift handover to your Team Leaders and set out yours and their targets for the shift.

• Provide the detail necessary for full and complete reporting of the performance of your team on a daily basis via the provided KPI tools and SAP, as well as through the Production Manager.

Planning and Control:

• Effective preparation to meet the production plan and wherever possible effectively 'early warn' against future problems and issues whilst identifying solutions.

• Co-ordinate changeovers and the lead in to shutdowns across the lines to ensure plans are delivered whilst providing the time necessary for planned maintenance and hygiene activities.

• As head of a production team the effect you have on the profitability of the business is almost unrivalled. Standards must be met consistently to achieve the cost base necessary to continue our growth.

 Order spare parts as required on shift if unavailable from stock and contact contrac-tors/suppliers as required in order to resolve problems.

 Efficiently manage and facilitate teams to resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion.

 Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures and regulations (e.g. attendance, quality, safety, GMP's, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the required standards (e.g. Food Safety, PPE etc.).

Principal purpose of the job

To assist the Quality Supervisor to maintain, verify & monitor the Food Safety, Quality Systems & Product Quality within the business, to meet internal, customer & third party requirements. Principle Purpose of the Role:

To Maintain engineering systems and plant through proactive assessment to effect maintenance and repair. This includes Allen Bradley programming, Hmi programming, the use of logix software. To provide a pro-active approach to the prevention of equipment failure and ensuring the schedule PM is carried out as planned for the systems and the plant. Ensuring Quality, waste and efficiency targets are met by working as an integral part of the manufacturing team. Following all Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Carry out work assignments issued by Lead engineer and maximize effectiveness of the shift at all times by ensuring efficient completion of tasks.

- Demonstrate a team approach with regard to maintenance and hygiene of equipment and support (teams of) operators.

- Provide support to the team during breaks and absences and work together to ensure completion of their duties.

- Follow all work instructions, procedures, job descriptions at all times.

- Ensure that all Work Orders, PM's issued are completed.

- Complete all necessary paper work.

- Work with other functions as part of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient running of the equipment and carry out prioritized work as agreed.

- Carry out the assigned activities to meet operational targets; working with other functions to ensure mutual objectives are met.

- Compliance with Company policies, procedures and regulations (e.g. attendance, quality, safety, GMP's, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the required standards (e.g. Food Safety, PPE etc.).

- Resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion.

- Ensure all parts removed from stores while on shift are booked out of stores in the correct way

- Where necessary, must initiate the purchase of parts or equipment completing the relevant order requisition forms with relevant information., handing them into the Lead engineer or Engineering Stores Administrator for processing

- Provide the Lead Engineer with information on all engineering downtime attended on shift,, related quality issue, work orders completed, PM's completed and other details as required.

- Identify and analyse problems before crises and determine appropriate action and follow-up.

- Ensure remedial works to equipment raised by work order or PM's are highlighted to the Lead engineer.

- Complete “Permit to Work' system when appropriate.

- Advise teams (of Operators) on a continuous basis with regard to simple maintenance and/or continuous improvement.

Work closely with Production teams (Leads and operators and shift supervisors). Work under super-vision of Lead Engineers. Also Liaise with QA, Logistics and Warehouse as required. Ensure that handovers are smooth and efficient whilst sharing relevant information with shift engineers. This should be carried out in the plant. Request/give information from/to Lead Engineer.Capable of instructing un-skilled/semi-skilled people in simple operations of equipment and set up of machinery (on going).

Qualifications:

- Previous food processing industry experience highly desirable

- Electrical qualifications/time served apprenticeship With PLC programming experience (Allen Brad-ley)use of logix software and network systems

- 2 Years experience of working in an automated production environment.

- A good standard of both written and oral English

- Basic Food Hygiene, Basic Health & Safety

- Data and analytical skills

- Computer literate. (word/excel/windows based packages)

- Desirable skills :-, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding, FLT license

Acting as a senior member of the EMEA Division Operations Function, to direct all aspects new product development across the region.Based in Coventry but with travel requirements to other locations across EMEA.

In conjunction with the key stakeholders lead the implementation of the EMEA NPD strategy and coordination effort. This senior leadership role encompasses a wide range of new product development activities including:

• the entire development process- idea generation & concept devel-opment 

• blue sky thinking.

• People Leadership

• Project Management

• Coordination of NPD teams across the region.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Provide strong people leadership for a NPD function operating in different countries and cultures across EMEA.

• Provide Project Management skills in evaluating and prioritising projects that are currently in the NPD que.

• Formulate and implement both the long term and medium term NPD strategy which enhances our product and brand portfolio's

• Generation of concept samples as appropriate for market research/ product briefings, customer presentations.

• To deliver a library of targeted product application ideas, providing a resource for customers, sales and marketing teams.

• Managing the sensory aspects of the development process- both in New Product Developments and bench marking programs.

• Full responsibility for spreading best practice NPD across the re-gion ensuring consistency and quality

• Ensuring the coordination of NPD efforts across the region provid-ing excellent support to commercial teams

• Build close collaboration with  other functions ( especially, sales, marketing, manufacturing and logistics) and assist in the formula-tion of integrated business plans.

• Experience of working in a retailer focused senior NPD role at management level, ideally within a fast-paced, fast-changing food environment. 

• The ability to inspire and challenge those around him/her, combining strategic NPD experience with a strong commercial ability, and exceptional people skills.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage
